To authorize a computer on iTunes, log in to your iTunes account, then choose Account from the menu on the right-hand side of the window. De-authorize all of your computers
Apple recently replaced iTunes on Macs with its Music app, although you can still access iTunes on Windows. To de-authorize all of your computers on iTunes, follow the steps below. To begin, sign in to your iTunes account with your Apple ID. Click on Account to open the View My Account page. Under Computers, select the drop-down menu and select De-authorize All. The process is simple. Once the deauthorization process is complete, you will see a message stating that all your computers are now de-authorized.
Next, go to Account & Authorizations. Here, you’ll see a list of computers that have been previously authorized to your Apple ID. If the list is more than two, you should select “De-authorize all of my computers.” After selecting the list of computers, you’ll need to re-authorize them so they can access your Apple ID. You can also delete the Account once a year if you no longer use the devices.
To de-authorize all of your computers, you must sign in with your Apple ID. Click the sign-in button to enter your Apple ID. Select ‘De-authorize all of your computers.’ Once you click this button, all authorized computers will be revoked. This will allow you to authorize computers again from scratch. This option is only available once a year, so you should de-authorize your computers before disposing of them, re-installing Windows, or upgrading hardware.
If you sell your computer or send it for service, you should de-authorize it from the iTunes store. Otherwise, you can use your iTunes account to download content to the computer. iTunes has a feature that allows you to authorize up to five computers with just one Apple ID. You’ll still need to authorize each computer individually to ensure you don’t exceed this limit. The process to de-authorize your computers from iTunes is simple.
Re-authorize each one that you still use
You can do this in two easy steps to de-authorize all of the computers you still use on your iTunes account. First, open iTunes and sign in with your Apple ID. Next, click Account – View My Account in the menu bar. On the Account page, click the De-authorize All button. You’ll be prompted to confirm this action. In the next step, click De-authorize All to de-authorize all of the computers on your iTunes account.
Once you’ve de-authorized one of the computers, you should re-authorize each of the remaining computers. You can re-authorize each computer in iTunes once a year and do this on each of the computers you still use regularly. Re-authorizing is necessary whether you’re selling a PC or a Mac. Re-authorizing each computer is also a good idea if you’re planning to sell one of the machines.
If you de-authorize all the computers you still use on your Mac, you may need to re-authorize them individually. Select Store on the menu bar and sign in. You’ll need to enter your Apple ID and password. After a few seconds, you’ll see the number of authorized computers. Click De-authorize All to revoke the authorizations on all computers you use on your Mac. Note that you can only de-authorize each computer once a year, so you should do this before disposing of old machines, upgrading hardware, or re-installing Windows.
You can also de-authorize a computer if you need to upgrade or get rid of it. Remove all authorized computers from your Apple ID.
To de-authorize a computer, sign in to iTunes with the same Apple ID you use to authorize the computer. Select the Deauthorize All button in the Summary section of your Apple ID. The good news is that removing the devices from your Apple ID can prevent security problems associated with older versions of Windows and Mac operating systems. And it’s easy to do.
Taking this step can prevent any new computers from being authorized. But it’s essential to know that this action may delete all your contents. You may want to reset your Apple ID password now if you forget it. Another precaution is to use two-factor authentication on your Apple ID. You can also change your password on your device. Once the new password is set, you can de-authorize your computer in iTunes without problems.
Re-authorize computers that you don’t have access to
You can re-authorize computers you don’t regularly use on iTunes to play purchased content. You can do this by navigating to your Apple ID Summary home page. Then, tap the “Computer Authorizations” button, and select De-authorize All or Authorize This Computer. You will need to be at the computer you’re trying to re-authorize.
To de-authorize, a computer on iTunes, go to the Account menu in the menu bar and click the ‘De-authorize’ button. You’ll be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password on this page. Click “View Account” to access your account information. Click “De-authorize all computers” to remove all permitted computers. Once you’ve finished deleting or removing computers from your Account, you can re-authorize them.
After de-authorizing your computer, you need to re-authorize your other computers so that you can continue using iTunes on them. You may need to repeat this process for any other computers. If you’re selling a Mac, you’ll have to re-authorize it, but if you’re selling a PC, you should do it first.
Alternatively, you can de-authorize computers you don’t use on your Mac. Re-authorizing computers you don’t have access to on your Mac will enable you to enjoy Purchased content on that computer. This will be very convenient if you want to share your iTunes library with other Mac users. The only downside is that you’ll have to re-authorize your computers if you want to ensure they can access your music.
Once you’ve authorized your computer, iTunes will connect to its central authorization server to check your credentials. It will then check your credentials and find a slot to authorize it. After your computer has been authorized, the song will begin playing. If you don’t have access to a computer, you’ll have to de-authorize it before re-authorizing it on your computer.
If you’ve recently sold an authorized computer, de-authorizing it on iTunes will remove it from your Account. This will free up one of your five authorization slots for other computers. If you’ve recently sold or given away the authorized device, you’ll need to de-authorize the new device to prevent unauthorized access.
